  • 1 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 oz red food coloring
  • 1 tblsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4-1/2 cup milk

Step 1

Sift the dry ingredients. Cream the sugar and the shortening, then add the eggs. Add the flour alt with the buttermilk, then add the vinegar and soda at the last. Pour into prepared cake pans and bake @350* for 25 minutes, then frost with cream cheese frosting
