Ingredients
- 3 T butter
- 1 T minced onion
- 3 T all purpose flour
- 1 T chopped parsley
- 1/4 t dried thyme
- 1/8 t ground pepper
- 10-1/2 oz. can beef broth
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 1/4 cup water

Preparation
Step 1
In heavy 1 quart saucepan over low heat, in 3 tablespoons hot butter, cook minced onion until tender. Stir in flour; cook until lightly browned; add chopped parsley, dried thyme leaves and ground black pepper. Slowly stir in beef broth (bouillon), red wine and water. Increase heat to medium high; cook mixture, stirring constantly, until sauce boils and thickens.
