Ingredients
- 3 T butter
- 2 1/2 lbs chicken, cut up
- 8 oz beef round, cubed
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1 1/2 T salt or more to taste
- 1/2 t pepper or more to taste
- water
- 1 C diced celery
- 1 C peeled and diced carrots
- 3 lbs peeled potatoes, about 9, diced
- 1 C shredded cabbage
- 1 c diced tomatoes
- 6 T chopped parsley to taste
- 1 20 oz cn whole kernel corn

Step 1
Melt butter in pot. Add chicken, beef and onion. Brown thoroughly. add salt and pepper and enough water to cover ingredients. Bring to a boil, then simmer 2 hrs or until tender, stirring occasionally.
Remove chicken from pot, removed bones from chicken and cut meat into cubes. Return meat to pot. Add celery, carrots, potatoes, cabbage, tomatoes and celery and corn. Simmer at least another 2 hrs, stirring occasionally and adding water as needed, one pint at a time, to maintain desired consistancy. Watch mixture carefully to prevent sticking and burning.
