Ingredients

  • 1 (11 to 12 ounces) package vanilla wafers, coarsely crushed, divided
  • 3 (4-serving size each) package instant vanilla pudding and pie filling
  • 5 cups milk
  • 1 (12 ounces) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 cup (1/2 pint) sour cream
  • 2 to 3 bananas, sliced
  • Dash of ground nutmeg (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Reserve 1/2 cup coarsely crushed vanilla wafers; place remaining crushed wafers in 9x13-inch baking pan.

In large bowl, combine pudding mix and milk; beat until smooth and thickened, 1 to 2 minutes. Add half whipped topping (about 2-1/2 cups) and sour cream; mix well.

Place half pudding mixture (about 4 cups) over crushed wafers and smooth. Arrange banana slices over pudding mixture. Smooth over with remaining pudding mixture. Cover pudding with remaining whipped topping.

Finely crush reserved 1/2 cup wafers and sprinkle over whipped topping; garnish with a dash of nutmeg, if desired.
