Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 Tbsp water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 small Hershey bars
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Cook first 4 ingredients together, stirring, constantly until mix is dark tan (10-20 mins?) or 295F
(experience tells me that it's probably more like 260-280 and could be . Smell for burn and catch it first!)

Add vanilla to the mix, stir, and pour into buttered shallow pan (6x10).

Immediately place chocolate on the mixture and spread evenly as they melt. Sprinkle nuts over entire surface and allow to harden.

Break into pieces.
