Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Preparation

Step 1

Sift dry ingredients together. Beat egg yolks and buttermilk together. Add dry ingredients, alternating with melted butter which is cooked to room temperature. Stir until batter is smooth snd free of lumps. In separate bowlm beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Fold into batter gently. Bake waffles in Belgian waffle iron.
