Ingredients

  • 6 oz. spaghetti
  • 2 T butter
  • 2 well-beaten eggs
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 lb. Italian Sausage mild or hot skinned
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup bell pepper
  • 1 8 oz can tomatoes, cut up
  • 1 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 1 t. sugar
  • 1 t. Basil or Oregano
  • 1/2 t. garlic salt
  • 1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 small can of black olives pitted (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Cook spaghetti according to package directions and drain. Stir butter into hot spaghetti; then stir in beaten eggs and Parmesan cheese. Transfer spaghetti mixture into greased 10” pie plate. Spread with cottage cheese.

In skillet cook Italian Sausage, onion and pepper till sausage is brown and vegetables are tender. Drain if needed. Stir in un-drained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, basil and garlic salt. Heat through.

Top spaghetti mixture with sausage mixture. Bake uncovered at 350 for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese. Bake till melted, about 5 minutes.

Garnish with pitted black olives around the pie.
