  • CRUST
  • 3 3 3 cups flour
  • 1 1 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 3 3 tbsp. sugar
  • 4 4 4 sprinkles cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 1 1/2 1/2 cups butter-flavored shortening
  • 1 1 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 7 7 7 tbsp. water
  • FILLING
  • Ingredients:
  • 10 10 10 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 2 2 cups sugar
  • 5 5 5 tbsp. flour
  • 3 3 3 dashes cinnamon
  • 1/2 1/2 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 1/2 1/2 cup powered sugar
  • 2 2 2 tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 1 1 dash of nutmeg
  • Stir all ingredients together.

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Roll out one dough ball for bottom of pie. Place in 12-inch cast-iron pan. Add apple filling.
Roll out remainder of dough and cover apples. Fold over edges to seal and reinforce by forking those closed edges.
Slit top of pie with a knife all the way around so it can breathe. Sprinkle top of pie with sugar and cinnamon.
Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes
