Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or oil
  • 4 onions, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp. powdered cinnamon
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 5-lb chicken, skinned and cut in serving pieces
  • 2 med. tomatoes. peeled and quartered
  • 1 1/2 tbl. salt
  • 3 tbls curry powder
  • 1 tbl. paprika

Preparation

Step 1

Heat the butter in a casserole or skillet, add onions and garlic and brown. Add bay leaves, cinnamon and cloves.

Cover and cook for 5 min.

Add chicken and cook uncovered until water in meat has steamed off. Add remaining ingredients; stir to avoid burning.

Cover with water and cook until chicken is tender.
