Ingredients
- 7 c. chicken, beef, or vegetable stock
- 5 c. diced or sliced vegetables: can use any of the following: potatoes, carrots, corn, green beans, lima beans, broccoli, celery, cauliflower, cabbage, squash
- 1/2 c. uncooked pasta or rice
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 t. basil (dried)
- 1/8 t. thyme (dried)
- salt and pepper to taste

Preparation
Step 1
in a large saucepan or stockpot, bring stock to a boil.
Add vegetables, herbs, salt and pepper to stock.
simmer 30 minutes to 1 hour or longer.
serve steaming hot
