Ingredients
- 1 1 1 C. crisco
- 1/3 1/3 1/3 C. boiling water
- 1 1 1 C. molasses
- 3 3 3 C. flour
- 1/2 1/2 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1 1 1 tsp. ginger
- 2 2 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 1/4 1/4 tsp. salt

Preparation
Step 1
Melt crisco in a sauce pan, then add water and molasses. In a separate bowl combine flour, cloves, ginger, baking soda and salt. In a small bowl beat egg. Add beaten egg to molasses mixture then blend in flour and spices with wooden spoon in saucepan. Let dough sit in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before rolling out on floured surface. Cut with cookie cutter and bake in 350F oven for 8-10 minutes.
