This has become one of our favorite steak recipes. It's an easy way to have beef for family dinners. We have made it with many different cuts of meat, it's always good!

Maple-Mustard-Glazed Balsamic Steaks 1 Picture

Ingredients

  • 1/3 c balsamic vinegar
  • 1/3 c pure maple syrup
  • 4 tb Dijon mustard, divided (2/2)
  • 3 tb chopped fresh thyme
  • 2 (1-pound) Flat-Iron Steaks
  • 1 tb olive oil
  • 1/3 c chopped pecans
  • 2 tb pure maple syrup
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 3 oz crumbled Blue Cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Combine Vin thru thyme in plastic bag
Add steaks, turn to coat
Marinate in fridge 2 hours, turn often
Heat olive oil in skillet over (m-h)
Add pecans, stirring to coat
Stir in maple syrup, stirring constantly 1 min.
Remove and spread on wax paper to cool
Remove steaks from marinade, reserve marinade
Sprinkle with S&P
Grill (m-h) 4-5 min. or to desired doneness
Heat reserved marinade with 2 tb of mstrd
Boil at least 2 min.
Should be thick & syrupy
Slice steaks against grain
Drizzle with marinade, cheese & pecans
