  • 12 TBSP. BUTTER (1 1/2 STICKS) VERY COLD UNSALTED
  • 1/3 CUP COLD SHORTENING
  • 3 CUPS FLOUR
  • 1 tsp. SALT (IF MAKING POT PIES INCREASE TO 1 TBSP)
  • 1 tsp. BAKING POWDER
  • 1 TBSP. SUGAR
  • 1/3 CUP COLD ICE WATER
  • 1/3 CUP VODKA 80 PROOF

Preparation

Step 1

1. IN FOOD PROCESSER PUT FLOUR, SALT, SUGAR AND BAKING POWDER PULSE A FEW TIMES TO MIX.

2. ADD THE BUTTER AND SHORTENING AND PULSE 10 TO 12 TIMES UNTIL MIXTURE IS THE SIZE OF PEAS.

3. WHILE THE MACHINE IS RUNNING ADD THE ICE WATER AND VODKA; PULSE THE MACHINE UNTIL THE DOUGH STARTS TO FORM A BALL.

4. DUMP OUT ONTO A FLOUR BOARD AND FORM INTO TWO BALLS. WRAP IN PLASTIC AND REFRIGERATE FOR 30 MINUTES.
