Ingredients

  • Bread Pudding:
  • 1 load Italian Panettone Bread
  • 1 bag chocolate chips
  • 8 eggs
  • 1-1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 2-1/2 cups milk
  • 1-1/4 cups sugar
  • Topping:
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup Amaretto
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch

Preparation

Step 1

Bread Pudding:
1. Cut bread into 1" cubes and lay in a 9" x 13"-inch baking pan.
2. Add chocolate chips and mix.
3. Put eggs into large bowl.
4. Add heavy cream, then milk, then sugar and whisk until sugar is dissolved.
5. When mixture is fully incorporated, pour over top of bread, pushing down on bread to make sure all bread is coated.
6. Let sit for 30 minutes.
7. Put into a 350 degree F oven for 45 minutes.
8. Remove and let cool.

Topping:
9. Simmer milk, cream and sugar in saucepan.
10. In small bowl, mix Amaretto and cornstarch, whisking until smooth.
11. Add Amaretto mixture to cream mixture and whisk together.
12. Let simmer until thick.
13. Scoop out bread pudding.
14. Spoon sauce over top and serve.
