Preparation

Step 1

1. Mix beef, mushrooms, onion, broth, teriyaki baste and glaze, sesame seed and sesame oil in 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker.

2. Cover and cook on low heat setting 8 to 10 hours.

3. About 35 minutes before serving, cook rice in 1 1/3 cups water as directed on package. Meanwhile, mix 2 tablespoons water and the cornstarch in small bowl. Stir cornstarch mixture and broccoli into beef mixture. Cover and cook on low heat setting 30 minutes or until broccoli is crisp-tender. Serve over rice.

EXPERT TIPS:

Be sure to cut the beef into pieces of the same size to ensure that all the beef cooks evenly and is tender.

When using a slow cooker, don't lift the lid during cooking unless necessary; removing the lid allows steam that is vital to the cooking process to escape.

REVIEWS:
Very good recipe, great way to finally get my hubby to eat his broccoli, now with that said did have to make a few changes. I didn't have teriyaki sauce on hand so I used hoisin instead, def added more flavor just by using that. A lot of reviews said that there wasn't enough sauce, my solution still cook it the same way and just add more sauce at the end to get the flavor you want. Overall great meal, will definitely use it in my regular dinner rotation.

Oops...forgot to mention this. I too increased some of the sauce ingredients. I added more teriyaki marinade/glaze (around 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup rather than 3 tablespoons).

This is a great and easy recipe. But when I first made it, I felt like it was missing something...I realized that I was missing the flavor of ginger. So, I added some ground ginger to taste and it was fantastic. The addition of the ginger makes this recipe a keeper.

This was wonderful and easy to prepare. I added extra of each sauce ingredient since mine needed more. Delicious!

I made this recipe but cooked it on high setting. It came out ok but I thought the sauce could have been thicker and more flavorful. I think next time Ill try it on low for 8-10 hours and maybe double the liquids then drain it out and thicken it in another pot like you would make gravy and add it back in. Ill let you know how it comes out.

Good. But not as much flavor as I was expecting. Might make again with some adjustments.

Everyone loved this...will make again!
