  • 3 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 tbs butter
  • 1/2 tsp real vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

Combine brown sugar and evaporated milk in a medium-size mixing bowl.

Place mixture into a medium saucepan and cook over low heat until mix reaches a boil, about 10 minutes.

Stir mixture until it heats to 260 degrees on a candy thermometer.

Remove from heat, add butter and vanilla and cool to room temperature, then mix in pecans. Stir until creamy, but it still holds shape.

Pour into 8" square baking pan.

Cool until set and then cut into 1" squares.
