Ingredients

  • 1 head of garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 sticks butter softened
  • 3 Tbsp. minced parsley
  • 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 2 (1 pound) loaves sourdough bread, split horizontally

Step 1

Heat oven to 425. Place garlic on a piece of foil; drizzle with olive oil. Fold edges together to seal. Bake 30 min; cool.

Cut top of garlic head and squeeze cooked garlic into a medium bowl. Garlic will be soft and sticky. Add butter, parsley and pepper, stirring to combine.

Spread cut halves of bread evenly with garlic mixture.

Broil 5 1/2" from heat (with oven door partially opened) 2-3 min or until butter melts and bread is toasted. Cut into slices to serve.
