Ingredients

  • 1 lb sweet italian turkey sausage
  • 3 t. oil, divided
  • 1 md. onion chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 c. plain cous cous
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/4 c. fresh basil, sliced into thin ribbons

Preparation

Step 1

1) prehat broiler to high. broil sausages til cooked, about 10 minutes, turning once. slice on a diagonal, 1/2" thick

2) heat 1t. oil in saucepan over md-high heat. add onion and garlic, cook til soft, about 4 minutes. season with salt and pepper. add 1 1/4c. water, bring to simmer, then stir in cous cous. cover, remove from heat and let stand 7 minutes

3) fluff with fork; transfer with sausage to bowl, toss with 2t. oil, lemon juice and basil. season with salt and pepper if desired
