Ingredients

  • 1 C. Shortening (butter flavored if desired)
  • 3/4 C. Sugar
  • 1 C. Boiling Water
  • 1 C. Cold Water
  • 1/2 C. Warm water
  • with 1 t. Sugar & 2 T. Yeast
  • 4 Eggs, beaten
  • 2 t. Salt
  • 8 C. Flour

Preparation

Step 1

Prepare yeast in warm sugar water & let rise. Beat eggs and set aside. Cream shortening & sugar, add boiling water and mix thoroughly.

Add cold water, yeast mixture, eggs & salt. Stir well.

Add flour, 4 cups at a time. Mix well and let it rise for 1 hour. Divide the dough into thirds.

Roll each ball into a circle, cut 16 pie slices in each circle, roll them up & seal in the front. Let them rise for 1 hour (covered in pam sprayed saran wrap)

BAKE 370° for 15-18 minutes.

**to freeze 2 pans, put on cookie sheets, cover with pam sprayed wrap & place in freezer before the 2nd rise**
