Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups (16 ounces) sour cream
- 2 tablespoons buttermilk
- 1 cup currants (or raisins)
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds, or to taste

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 325 F. Grease two 8 x 4-inch loaf pans. Mix flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add eggs, sour cream, buttermilk, currants or raisins and caraway seeds. Mix until just combined. This will be very thick, very lumpy batter.
Distribute batter evenly between two pans. Bake loaves for 1 hour or until nicely browned. Do not over bake. Best served immediately with butter.
