Ingredients
- CRUST:
- 3/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 tbs sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 egg
- 2 tbs milk
- FILLING:
- 1 large apple
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 egg- lightly beaten
- 1-2 tbs sugar

Step 1
Preheat oven 425* For the crust- place the flour in a bowl and cut in butter until crumbs- Stir in sugar and baking powder- Combine egg and milk in small bowl- add flour mixture stirring until dough forms- cover and set aside.
For the filling- peel and grate apple place in bowl add ginger. Roll dough on lightly flour board – cut into 8 4-inch squares. Spoon about 1 TBSP of apple mixture into dough- Brush edges of dough with beaten egg. Fold the corners toward the middle covering the filling, Pinch edges to seal and place on ungreased baking sheet.
For the topping, brush the tops with remaining egg and sprinkle with sugar. Bake until brown 8-10 min. Cool pies on sheet for 1-2 min- serve warm or cool completely
