Cheesy Garlic Basil Tilapia 1 Picture

Ingredients

  • 6 tilapia fillets, about 4-6 oz. each
  • 1-2 Tablespoons dried basil
  • 1 Tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced lemon peel
  • 1/4 Cup white wine
  • Ground white pepper, to taste
  • Kosher-style salt, to taste
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 Cup fresh basil leaves
  • 6 Tablespoons grated Asiago cheese, divided (use Parmesan if you don't have Asiago)

Step 1

Preheat oven to 355°.

In a small bowl, combine the dry basil, garlic,lemon peel, and wine and let soak for 5 minutes.

Arrange the tilapia in a baking dish. Pour the spice mixture over the fish. Sprinkle with PEPPER and SALT. Dot the fillets with butter and top with the fresh basil. Sprinkle with 4 TB. of cheese.

Bake at 355° for 15-25 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. Do not overcook! Sprinkle with the remaining 2 TB. of cheese and serve.
