Ingredients
- 4 C fresh raspberries, packed
- 3 C granulated sugar
- 1 T lemon juice, fresh or bottled

Step 1
Place raspberries in large pot. Cover with sugar. Stir. Let stand on counter 1-2 hours until berries release their juice.
Add lemon juice. Heat on low, stirring occasionally, until it begins to bubble. Simmer slowly, stirring until sugar dissolves. Increase heat to hight and bring to a rolling boil. Boil hard for abour 20 minutes, stirring occasionally until it chickens. Test a little on a chilled sauce to see if it is thickness of jam. Fill hot sterilezed half pint jars and screw metal bands on securely. For added assurance agaist spoilage you may choose to process in a boiling water bath for 5 minutes.
Blackberry Jam: use blackberries instead or raspberries.
