Ingredients
- Pastry:
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 7-8 T. iced water, just enough to hold dough together
- Filling:
- 6 medium tart apples
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 T. butter
- 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- Syrup:
- 1 c. sugar
- 4 T. butter
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 c. water

Preparation
Step 1
Make pastry and roll out. Cut into 6 squares. Mix filling together and divide evenly onto the 6 pastry squares. Bring up sides of pastry until filling is covered. Boil syrup 3 minutes, then pour over dumpings in pan. Bake 10 minutes at 500 degrees, then 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees.
