Ingredients

  • 4-5 c. cooked turkey, cut into 1-1 1/2-inch pieces
  • 5 c. dry bread cubes
  • 4 heaping T. chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 3 T. sage (or to taste)
  • 3/4 c. finely chopped celery, cooked in 1 c. water & cooled
  • 1/5 c. margarine melted, cool and add to cooked celery
  • Hot chicken broth to moisten
  • 1/4 c. poultry seasoning

Step 1

Combine all ingredients except turkey, and gently toss. Mixture should be a bit moist before it is baked. Place a nice layer of mixture on bottom of breased 11x7x2-inch baking dish. Cover the bottom layer with the cooked turkey. Cover with remaining mixture. Bake covered 400 degrees until bubbly 30 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and cook another 30 minutes-uncover and cook 10 minutes more to brown.
