Ingredients

  • 1 small loaf (8oz) sourdough, French or Italian bread, cut into 1" thick slices
  • 3 tbsp. butter or margarine, softened
  • 8 oz. ham, cubed
  • 2 c. (8oz) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. white pepper

Step 1

Grease 11 x 7 baking dish. Spread 1 side of each bread slice w/ butter. Cut into 1" cubes; place on bottom of prepared dish. Top w/ ham; sprinkle w/ cheese.

Beat eggs in med. bowl. Whisk in milk, mustard, s&p. Pour egg mixture evenly in dish. Cover; refrigerate at least 6 hour or overnight.

Preheat oven to 350. Bake bread pudding, uncovered, 45-50 mins. or till puffed & golden brown & knife inserted into center comes out clean. Garnish as desired.
