Cabernet short ribs (slow cooker)

  • 4 lbs short ribs
  • 2 t flour
  • 1 c red wine
  • 2 lbs of carrot, onion and celery chopped
  • 8 oz sliced cremini mushrooms
  • 1 package beef and onion soup mix (2.2oz)
  • 1 t each chopped fresh rosemary and thyme


Servings 6


Step 1

1) season ribs with salt and pepper. cook 10 minutes in skillet til brown on all sides. transfer to cooker and sprinkle with flour

2) add rest of ingredients and 1/2c water. cover and cook 6-8 hours low

3) remove ribs and veggies from cooker, skim off fat, add ribs and veggies back and serve
