Cabbage and Beans

Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage
  • 1/4 pot water
  • 2 tablespoons bacon fat
  • salt and pepper
  • sugar
  • vinegar
  • flour
  • 1/4 cup bacon fat
  • 1 can pork and beans

Preparation

Step 1

1. Cut cabbage and boil for 5 minutes; drain and return to pot. Add 1/4 pot water, 2 tbs bacon fat, salt, pepper, sugar and vinegar to taste. Simmer for 30 minutes.

2. Brown some flour and 1/4 c bacon fat; mixing and stirring constantly.

3. Add beans to cabbage; gradually add browned flour.
