Ingredients

  • 6 Bell Peppers
  • 1 Tbs Butter
  • 1 Tbs Olive Oil
  • 1 small Onion, chopped
  • 3 ribs Celery, chopped
  • 1 can Tomato Sauce
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp Basil
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 Egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 Tbs Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1.5 cups cooked Rice
  • 3/4 cups Cheddar Cheese, shredded

Step 1

Cut tops off peppers and remove seeds.

Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat until hot. Saute onion and celery for about 5 minutes. Add tomato sauce and all seasonings.

In a large mixing bowl, combine egg with Worcestershire sauce. Add beef, rice and 1.5 cups of tomato sauce mixture. Stuff peppers with meat mixture and place in baking dish. Top with remaining tomato sauce mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees for 55-65 minutes. Top with cheese (optional) just before baking is finished.
