Preparation
Step 1
Step 1:
Cream softened butter with brown sugar, add flour. Mix well. Spread 3 cups of mixture in a greased 9 X 13 pan, pat down with your hands. Reserve the rest for a crumb topping. Bake 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
Step 2:
Beat the eggs and mix them with the brown sugar. Add the melted butter and stir it all up. Mix in the light Karo syrup, salt, and pecan pieces. Then add flour and mix thoroughly. Pour this mixture over the crust, sprinkle the reserved crust mixture from the first step.
Bake 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and cool on a wire rack. Once cool to the touch, refrigerate until ready to serve. Can serve warm, room temperature or cold.
