  • 1 c. soft bread crumbs
  • 1 c. chunky applesauce, divided
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 t. Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 t. pepper
  • 1 T. brown sugar, packed

Step 1

Combine bread crumbs and 1/2 cup applesauce in a large bowl. Add beef and egg; blend thoroughly. Press mixture into an ungreased 9"x5" loaf pan in a rounded shape. Make a shallow well in top of meatloaf. Combine remaining applesauce and other ingredients; spoon into well.

Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for one hour.

Serves 4.
