Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 2 1/2 cups oatmeal
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 24 ounces chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts

Step 1
1. Beat together butter, eggs, vanilla, and sugars until light and fluffy.
2. Combine flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and oatmeal.
3. Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients.
4. Mix in nuts and chocolate chips.
This is a large volume of dough so may need to split in halves and mix to combine thoroughly.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put dough on ungreased cookie sheets. Depending upon how large you want the cookies- bake for 8 minutes, remove from oven and take a spatula and pat down dough. This will make them "soft-baked". Bake for another 5 minutes and pat down again. Depending upon how soft you like them. If you don't like them soft inside then bake for 18 minutes. You can use any various type of chocolate type- peanut butter, white chocolate, butterscotch- all are great/
