- 1 cup White Cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 tablespoon Shortening or Bacon Fat
- 3/4 cup Boiling Water
- Canola Oil or Peanut Oil

Preparation
Step 1
1 cup White Cornmeal
1 teaspoon Salt
1 tablespoon Shortening or Bacon Fat
3/4 cup Boiling Water
In a medium size bowl, combine dry ingredients. Stir in shortening and boiling water. Mix well. Shape mixture into small patties.
Canola Oil or Peanut Oil
In cast iron skillet, heat 1/4 inch canola oil or peanut oil. Fry patties until golden on each side, about 5 minutes.
