  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. white corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 6-8 quarts popcorn

Step 1

Pop corn and put in large roasting pan. Heat all ingredients except soda. Bring to boil and cook five minutes, stirring frequently to prevent sticking to pan. Turn off heat and add soda. Mixture will foam up. Stir until mixed (only a few seconds). Pour over popped corn and stir well. Bake in 250 degree oven for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from ovem and stir until completely cooled. Corn will crackle when cool.
