Orca Point Lodge Sauce Recipe

We had this recipe on salmon in Alaska in 2009. It was delicious!

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup butter
• 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 1/4 cup soy sauce
• 1 Tbs lemon juice

Step 1

Melt butter over low heat, add remaining ingredients and heat slowly to a simmer, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching. Marinate salmon for 1/2 - 1 hour. Cook salmon 4-5 minutes on each side and baste while cooking. The salmon will glake easily when done - do not overcook.

The salmon you ate at the Orca Point Lodge was wild Alaskan Coho (aka "silver salmon"), caught by wild Alaskan fishermen! You will not get the same flavor if you start with farmed salmon. We have a saying here in Alaska "friends don't let friends eat farmed fish".
