Cookies, Peanut Blossoms

Ingredients

• 1 3/4 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1/2 cup peanut butter
• 1 egg
• 2 tablespoons milk
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 48 Hershey’s kisses

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375.

Combine all ingredients except kisses in large mixing bowl. Mix on lowest speed until dough forms.

Shape dough into balls using a rounded teaspoonful for each. Roll balls in sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake for 10-12 minutes.

Wait a couple of minutes for cookies to cool slightly. Top each cookie with a Hershey’s kiss and press down firmly. Remove cookies from cookie sheet and place on a wire rack to cool.
