GINGERSNAP COOKIES

Karen Kuntzman's recipe. These are the best gingersnap cookies EVER!!! Karen says the secret to her cookies being chewy and yummy is the second, etc. cookie sheet has to be cold before putting the cookies on and placing them in the oven.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter -- make sure it is at room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar (plus a little extra)
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup molasses - blackstrap
- 2 1/3 cups flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp. salt

Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter, sugar, eggs and molasses.
Sift and combine dry ingredients and mix into butter combo.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls and dip in some granulated sugar.
Bake on cold, ungreased cookie sheet at 350F for 8 minutes.
Remove with metal spatula, while still soft, onto cooling rack.
