Ingredients

- 6 lbs flour
- 3 lbs crisco, melted
- 1 cup cinnamon, grated from sticks
- 1 cup anise
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 teaspoons cinnamon

Step 1
Add anise and cinnamon,with just enough water to make a soft ball that can be kneaded very gently.
When ingredients are thoroughly blended, form dough into ball and roll out on floured board.
Cut into holiday shapes (Christmas trees, etc.) with cookie cutters.
Bake at 375 degrees for 15 - 20 minutes, watching carefully for signs of burning.
Remove from oven, let cool and roll in blended sugar and cinnamon. "And handle very gently, because they will just dissolve".
