Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup ripe mashed bananas (about 3)
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup pecans

Step 1
Sift together flour, sugar, soda and salt. Add shortening, vanilla, buttermilk, bananas, eggs and lemon juice. Beat about 4 minutes. Fold in pecans.
Bake in tube pan at 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes.
