Ingredients
- 1 cup finely chopped onions
- 2 cup finely diced potatoes
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 qt. half and half cream
- Dash of pepper
- 2 (6 1/2 oz.) cans minced clams
- 1 cup finely diced celery
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar

Preparation
Step 1
Prepare vegetables and place in a saucepan. Drain the juice from the clams and pour over the vegetables. Add enough water to barely cover and simmer, covered, over medium heat until potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes.
Melt butter and add flour and blend. Cook 2 minutes. Add cream and cook, stirring until smooth and thickened.
Add undrained cooked vegetables and clams. Heat through. Season with salt, pepper and sugar.
NOTE:
Bacon, chopped and cooked, can be added.
