Ingredients

  • Vegetable or Olive Oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oil in pan ( 1 – 1 ½ inches) to prepare dough for frying. Heat water, margarine and salt to rolling boil in 3-quart saucepan; stir in flour. Stir over low heat until mixture forms a ball (about 1 minute); remove from heat. Beat eggs all at once, then add to dough mix and stir for about 2 minutes. Dough will be lumpy. You can spoon mixture into cake decorator’s tube with large star tip or just make balls. Put dough into hot oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Combine sugar and cinnamon and roll churros in mixture.
