Doretha Tomatoe Dumplins

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 2 28-oz. cans chopped tomatoes
  • 1 c. brown sugar, packed
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 12-oz. tube refrigerated biscuits, quartered

Preparation

Step 1

In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onion and bacon in margarine. Stir in tomatoes, brown sugar, salt and pepper; heat until bubbling. Roll biscuit quarters into balls and drop into tomato mixture, pushing into liquid to coat. Cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serves 4 to 6.
