Ingredients
- 1 Tbs unflavored gelatin
- 1/4 cup cold water or liquor (Grand Marnier)
- 1/2 cup hot milk*
- 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tsp instant coffee
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 Tbs sugar
- dash salt
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1 1/4 cup crushed ice
- Be sure milk is hot enough to melt chocolate chips or pre melt chocolate chips

Step 1
Soften gelatin in cold water. Add to hot milk and stir until dissolved, keeping milk hot on stove. DO NOT BOIL. With steel blade in work bowl, put chips, coffee, sugar, salt and vanilla in bowl. Pour hot milk over and whirl until smooth using on/off method. Stop machine, add yolks, whirl, add cream through feed tube, stop and add ice all at once. Whirl until ice is dissolved and mixture is beginning to thicken.
Pour into individual sherbet glasses or large glass serving bowl. Chill at least 15 minutes.
Decorate with cream.
