  • 7 cups pear nectar
  • 4 sticks cinnamon
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 8 whole star anise pods
  • 1 1/2 cups gold tequila
  • 8 Asian pears
  • 1 lemon, juiced

Preparation

Step 1

Combine pear nectar and spices in a 2 quart casserole pan. Bring to a boil. Then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. During the simmer, cut tops from the pears and hollow out all but 1/4" with a melon baller to create the cups. Rub cut parts of pears with lemon juice to prevent browning. Remove pan from heat, place on its own trivet and stir in tequila. Let guests ladle right from the pan into pear cups.

Serves 8.
