Ingredients

  • MAKES 1 (13X9-INCH) PAN
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate morsels
  • 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk chocolate morsels
  • Garnish: confectioners7 sugar

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350°. Spray a 13x9-inch baking pan with cooking spray. Line pan with parchment paper, letting excess extend over sides of pan.
2. In the top of a double boiler, combine butter and semisweet chocolate morsels. Cook over simmering water, stirring constantly, until melted and smooth. Remove from heat; stir in cream.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, flour, cocoa, and baking powder. Stir in chocolate mixture, eggs, and vanilla until moistened. Stir in milk chocolate morsels. Spread batter into prepared pan.
4. Bake until edges begin to pull away from sides of pan, 30 to 35 minutes. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
Dust with confectioners' sugar, if desired.
