Ingredients
- Topping:
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 3 cups flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 (8 oz.) container sour cream
- 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup butter

Step 1
Combine first 4 ingredients and then cut in butter until crumbly.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray two 9-inch cake pans.
Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs until mixture is very light and fluffy. Add almond extract.
Combine flour and baking soda. Add alternately with sour cream. Mix. Divide batter evenly in the two pans, spread cherry filling on top.
Mix streusel topping mix and sprinkle over cherry filling.
Bake for 25 to 35 minutes until cake test done. Rosemary's gas oven takes almost 45 minutes.
