Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp. (1/2 stick) butter, cut into pieces, plus more for the baking dish
- 1/2 pound uncooked elbow macaroni
- 3 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard powder
- 4 cups (1 pound) grated Cheddar cheese

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a 2-quart flameproof baking dish. In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the macaroni according to the package directions.
Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, mix together the butter, eggs, milk, sour cream, salt, pepper and mustard.
Drain the macaroni, transfer it into a large bowl, and stir in 2 cups of the cheese. Add the egg-and-milk mixture and stir to combine. Pour into the baking dish and bake for 30 minutes or until set. Top with the remaining 2 cups cheese and put the baking dish under the broiler until bubbly and golden brown. Serve immediately.
