Ingredients
- 1 cup plus 3 tablespoons flour, divided
- 2/3 cup light brown sugar, divided
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/4 cups pecan pieces, divided
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 3/4 cup dark corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Put 1 cup flour, 1/3 up brown sugar and baking powder is food processor and pulse briefly. Add butter. Pulse. Add 1/4 cup pecan pieces and pulse. Press into bottom of pan. Bake for 15 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine remaining 1/3 cup brown sugar and remaining 3 tablespoons flour in a small bowl. Add eggs, corn syrup, vanilla and salt and mix well.
Gently pour mixture over baked crust and sprinkle with remaining 1 cup pecan pieces. Bake an additional 20 to 25 minutes, or until pecan mixture is set. Cool for 2 hours before cutting into bars.
Microwave directions:
Prepare crust as directed. Microwave on high for 6 to 8 minutes, rotating dish several times during baking.
Prepare pecan filling as directed. Microwave on medium-high powder for 7 to 9 minutes, rotating dish twice during cooking. Cool for 2 hours before cutting into bars.
