Ingredients
- 18 caramels
- 1 cup shortening (margarine)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs beaten
- 2 3/4 flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp hot water
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped unsalted peanuts

Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 400F
Cut each caramel into 4 pieces. Cut each piece into 6 pieces.
Combine margarine and sugars. Beat until creamy and beat in eggs.
Combine flour, soda and salt. Add gradually to shortening mixture.
Beat in vanilla and hot water.
Stir in caramels, chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop onto cookie sheet. 2 inch diameter and 1 inch high.
Bake for 7-9 minutes.
