Ingredients
- 3 tsp cocoa
- 1/2 oz. red food coloring
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vinegar

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degree. Spray a Bundt pan with non-stick spray.
In large bowl, make paste with cocoa and food coloring. Cream in shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Add vanilla.
In separate bowl, sift together flour and salt. Slowly add flour to cocoa mixture, alternating with buttermilk. Dissolve baking soda in vinegar, then add to batter, blending well.
Bake in Bundt pan for 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Serve with whipped topping.
